All SIM Cards need to complete real-name registration before they can be used
Do not purchase a “registered” pre-paid SIM (PPS) card from unknown sources in the market
Complete the registration of your SIM cards with your own original identity document

The Telecommunications (Registration of SIM Cards) Regulation (The ‘Regulation’) took effect on September 1, 2021 in respect of the Real-name Registration Programme for Subscriber Identification Module (SIM) Cards (“Real-name Registration Programme”).

Information required for Real-name Registration

To complete the registration, customers must provide the information required under the Regulation including but not limited to the following:

Individual Customers
You are required to provide your name in Chinese (if applicable) and English, Date of Birth, Copy Identification Document (Hong Kong Identity Card or other acceptable identification document)
Corporate Customers
You are required to provide Company Name, Responsible Persons’ Chinese Name (if applicable), English Name, Date of Birth, Copy Identification Document, Copy Business Registration Certificate
You will receive a SMS confirmation upon successful registration of the prepaid SIM services.
Individual users can register up to 10 SIM cards, while corporate users can register up to 25 SIM cards with each local telecommunications service provider.
Tutorial Steps for New Customers

Click New Customer

Create account with email or social media account
Step 03
Fill in Prepaid SIM card number. Click “Get Verification Code via “SMS”. Then enter the code and press “Next”
Step 04
Select Identity Document. If you select Passport/ Other travel document, you need to confirm the related declaration. Then upload your identity document.
Step 05
Confirm & submit information or Authentication via iAM Smart
Holders of Hong Kong Identity Card please use “iAM Smart” to complete real-name registration; otherwise, SIM card will activate only after verification is completed.”
